Heh, dystopian future, here we come! I actually think this will look very GCT-esque if GCT were built in 2013 instead of 1913. We've upgraded from yellow stone to white.

Well yes I was guessing they would plaster the wall with ads so in a sick way that will help.

I think two levels of retail will make a big difference. I don't see anything going on that wall.

It is proposed to use the walls for advertisements. Nonetheless, it's up to Westfield (who's managing the whole retail space) to include these or not.

    Reminds me of THX1138.

I wonder why Westfield removed "Shoppingtown" from the official name... Thank heavens they didn't name it "Westfield Ground Zero" though, that would be sacrilege.

Is the overall goal to make lower Manhattan sound more suburban-looking with items like Westfield and Brookfield?

I think the major retail management corporations all just have very suburban sounding names.

World Trade Center Transit Hub Beginning to Soar

    by William Menking

Construction at Calatrava’s World Trade Center Transit Hub. (The Architect’s Newspaper)

The World Trade Center Transportation Hub by Santiago Calatrava is the architect tells us “the image of a bird in flight.” Yesterday we took a look at the interior retail corridor that will connect with the soaring transit hub oculus, but the structure has now just appeared above the scaffolding surrounding the entire Trade Center site and its looks nothing like a soaring bird but the bare bones of a beached carcass. It can only get better!

Totally Stegosaurus Ready to Pounce (not so much Dove in Flight)

But all indications are that this will be stupendous from the inside.

So I've never been able to tell, but this looks like it gets incredibly close to tower 3. But the base of tower 3 isn't even built to where this gets to the building. I wonder how that will impact later construction.

Looking at the third picture I can't help but think a simple glass bulge/dome above what you see already constructed would have been still very impressive and much cheaper.
