Sure they saved billions of dollars by making Penn Station a depressing rathole, but look what we got.

Maybe a regional light rail terminus does not require an edifice as grand as a major train station does, but public spaces must be done well and with taste, at the very least.

    I just noticed that!

Especially her hat, which looks like the wings of the station.

From the project plan looks like they have to do some pilings work before completing the excavation. I noticed in the northern section a few "tunnels". Assume they are the old H&M station. Would be cool to see some old tyme pics of that structure.

Will they be pulling out that whole wall where T2 is projected to be?

I noticed today a retaining wall of some sort installed between the tower 2 and WTC Hub areas in the Eastern pit.

Amazing from the Woolhead photo blog how much work is going on in the Greenwich Street underpinnings that cant even be seen.

A friend of mine recently visited the Milwaukee Art Museum and I saw photos of it with its "wings" in the up and down positions. It really is quite sad that this element will be lost on the Transit Hub.

Anyone know what the "calatrava parts" sitting on top of the east/west connector are for?

I would upload a photo, but my computer is giving me fits.

    Yup.

I went to the exhibit at the Sophia Institute today. Monday is the last day so if anyone hasn't been, it's worth the trip.
