    They may have been around but were never posted! Although I do see one at the top of this thread.

    There's a construction photo at the bottom of the YIMBY post from a reader, btw.

    Most of this neighborhood should be razed... ideally with the rest of the waterfront north of the Seaport. Then build a cut/cover subway line along the river -- which also acts as a storm barrier -- and replace everything with high-density residential & institutional structures.

    I would say that besides the HY, the 'Lower East Waterfront' is the worst-utilized part of Manhattan.

    Also, that construction photo on the site is from 8 months ago.

    I was expecting a red/brown brick color... the yellow feels cheap. I like the design though, adds character to a dead stretch of 1st Ave.
