By Evan Bindelglass The undulating, skyscraping replacement for the Roseland Ballroom has yet to top out, but its curtain wall is already being put in place at 242 West 53rd Street, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue, in Midtown.
Construction progress yesterday at 242 West 53rd Street.Concrete has been poured up to the 31st floor of the CetraRuddy-designed tower, and curtain wall installation is underway on the fourth through sixth floors. When we reported on construction in December, the building had reached 12 stories. When it tops out, its 62 stories will rise 675 feet and encompass 452,896 square feet.
