From my trip to Carmel, Monterrey, and a couple of Beach towns when I lived in San Francisco, CA.

I love the lonely cypress.
Is it the most famous tree in the world ? |

Driving down the California coast was an expierence. My favorite beach town has to be Venice Beach outside of Los Angeles, I will never forget my stay off the boardwalk. The highlight was further north outside of San Simeon spending the night in California style, bonfires lining the coast.

I still need to get to the central Cali coast. I've done SF north to the Oregon border, and Oceanside south to the Mexican border, but nothing in between.
My favorite coastal town may be Mendocino at this point. I took this photo early in the morning when the fog was just lifting last fall (from my photo/travel site): http://www.travelguideofamerica.com/...ainstreet.html |
