Thats on my to do list this summer........., Photographing that building..
This is a project that I have been following for some time now - but nothing much in the last year has been happening in terms of construction. This will be a fantastic restoration once it gets rolling. I have several recent photos of the site which I will upload on the next thread post.
Some project news here - http://www.scoutingny.com/scouting-t...d-power-plant/

An artfully produced video production showing the building, the interiors, and environs...

To make this building structurally sound - and habitable with all modern electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems - will cost such a vast amount of money that the restoration of this building is completely unfeasible: and certainly will be demolished at some point.
This is obvious to me as someone with many year working in the construction industry; but why has no one come up with that simple determination. Instead, we go on-and-on for years - decades actually - mulling over the various dream schemes for this building: and nothing ever happens.
I would love to see this structure restored to it’s original condition, but it is never going to happen, so would we all not be better off simply seeing ‘something’ get done with this site.
Until then, let us continue to document the status of the aging architectural marvel.
Many more photos to follow; as I find time to upload them a few at a time…..

Thanks, Thread no longer sticky - I must have done that in error. This thread is not going to be of much general interest, or get too many visits, definitely no need for it to be sticky.
I would like to know the current status of this redevelopment project: I see no activity there at all - and I walk past that building often. The building and property needs to be better utilized for the public benefit it can offer: somebody wiith knowledge of local political information in Yonkers, please chime in on this project.
