I spoke with the JC cop directing traffic at Marbella II site - the weight test being done to determine how many stories the property can bear. But it looks like another residential high rise.
BTW - He told me that metered parking is coming to the area on Washington Blvd, not certain which side and how much.
That's great to hear. So it sounds like they're driving test piles into the ground (Russo Development is doing the same at it's massive site in Harrison). So we might see actual construction begin within 6 months or so...that would be pretty amazing if they built a tower of similar height to the Marbella (the amount of land on that parcel is sufficient to hold the footprint of such a tower).
This is great news!! Looks like JC is embarking on another big building period!!

Quick Update:
I found that the tiny brick building between One and Fifteen Exchange Place finally was demolished. Does anyone know what might be going in at this site? The two adjacent buildings are 10 stories each, and the site runs right through the center of the block. Pic:

340 Third & Warren@York are still in the foundation stage, so I'll post photos of those as they rise. It was interesting to see that JC is now requiring signage at construction sites similar to what you see in NYC these days (developer's name, address, & contact info; name of project; etc.)
There is also a small building going up on Grand St. across from Liberty Harbor. It's great to see all this construction again.
With sales picking up again I think we are going to see a lot more construction, I found this in fridays NY Daily News and I read somewhere a couple of weeks ago how their has been a lot of sales recently at Dixon MillsOriginally Posted by Malcontent

Im really excited about the Conrad Hotel. It will be great to see that far end of Marin Blvd build up. Also nice to see another hotel opening up.
Any news on the Jersey Avenue Bridge to Liberty State park , has the state decided to fund that bridge?
All the building projects coming on line now or about to really makes things exciting here again after a couple of lower key years due to the economic/housing downturn.Wanted to check on the status of the announced Mack-Cali/Ironstate two tower project at Harborside(probably intended for the proposed old Harborside 8/9 development site next to Harborside 10)and found something VERY intriguing.Second page of the Mack-Cali realty listings includes two stories written on February 9/10 2012 which indicates instead of two towers totalling 500 units each,an additional MASSIVE development extension(logically where Harborside 6/7 were to go) with another 1,500 units(two more towers,750 units each.....we're talking possible 70-80 stories here,and 55-60 at the original site)!Frustratingly,it was required you register at least temporarily at one of those inside trade publications for the whole story...but we seem to be on the cusp(don't forget the possible megaproject at the former Merrill Lynch site sold last year to Hartz Mountain)of a whole new slate of skyscrapers filling up the skyline.Jersey City may soon be rising REALLY tall!
If someone could find SOMETHING out about this.....damn it's such an exciting thing to contemplate how the Jersey City skyline is going to start getting amazing over the next few years!

citybooster - my understanding was that the Mack-Cali/Ironstate proposal from several months ago was for the Harborside 6/7 site (directly infront of Trump Plaza). Looks like the may have upped the ante a bit (perhaps after hearing about the Roseland/Hartz proposal). btw - the City Center proposal was for around 1500 units, with heights of 58 and 65 stories for the two towers. In any case, sounds like we definitely have a new record for NJ's tallest residential towers on the way...
EDIT: Here's the quote from a conference call posted to JCList; credit goes to jklm:

Keep in mind that this excerpt is supposedly from a July 28th, 2011 conference call.
I'm wondering what Ironstate currently has in mind for the second Trump Towers site if they are putting up another massive tower right infront of it (unless they offset the tower so as not to fully obstruct the view, as LeFrak did with Aquablu/Shore Club).
