The whole area filled in by the Urby towers and Harborside 8 and twin towers for Harborside 9 is going to really build up the skyline, and they also have that huge lot behind Harborside 4 to eventually develop!

At least I hope that in the post COVID-19 world, it will.

Was taking a walk over the weekend and I noticed steel test piles have already begun at Harborside Plaza 8 site. Also worth noting, the vast majority of projects, 141 projects in total out of 160, are allowed to continue under Gov. Murphy’s Executive Order.

That's good to hear, JCMAN! Haven't been around the city in awhile due to the present situation but going to work(essential worker here, grocery) I pass the NJCU development and the West Side Avenue facing part is in full force right now, both the Rivet 2 and City Line East projects both looking massive and well on their way with at least three floor levels reached and I think on Rivet 2 starting on the 4th floor level. Also live across from 400 Claremont, can see it building up from my third floor window in the West Side Avenue area and you can se just how expansive its footprint is. 600 rental units(albeit a sizable number of studios around 400-500 ft) on six floors is just wild! And on the other side of Claremont Avenue towards the highway, a three building project with around 700 units is going up too.

From Skyscraper Page... looks like work is finally starting on the Harborside 8 site, very preliminary stuff but a good sign for official construction starting by the fall.

Looks like the first stage of infrastructure work before phase 1 of the Bayfront development between Route 440 and the Hackensack River waterfront is a go for this fall. When the the actual first development phase begins, probably sometime next year, there will be 1,092 units with 35% set aside as affordable... the vast majority of them well below the median income, so this is really big news for affordable housing stock as that 35% number is the goal for the entirety of the project.

    anything happening at Harborside 8?

Heard about an 8 story, 158 unit building being considered by the Planning Board for the La Mexicana site on Route 440(formerly the Colonette Diner/ Jersey City Diner &Sports Bar)on September 22...any news if it passed? I know they are taking advantage of Bayfront going up right next to it but really unsure if that particular site would be good for a such a sizable residential project. NO affordable housing, unlike the 35% set up for Bayfront... the street on one side floods like crazy after a heavy rain, just perplexed people would want to live in such a high traffic area as well. Infrastructure would need LOTS of improvement. Even residential development going up by the highway are just a bit OFF it.

has 25 Columbus topped off? Anything at Harborside 8?

25 Columbus I believe is topped out...windows, brick, paneling being put in and looks great so far. A few more months of exterior work cladding the higher floors but coming along quickly. No action at Harborside 8 yet, don't know when they will really get going forward but hopefully by the end of the year.
