    Queens, born and raised.

My dad's side is Irish, but been here for generations. *He grew up in Elmhurst.

My mom is Italian (her dad from Italy, mom from BK), grew up in Brooklyn (Williamsburg).

I grew up in Bayside (where they moved when married) and now live in Whitestone.

    Love the board, baby!

Fabb, this question has been nagging me for a while, and it might sound a bit random, but here goes:

Who's the new Prime Minister of France? *I mean, Jospin retired from political life after he unsuccessfully ran for President last year, and obviously Le Pen didn't win either and certainly wasn't appointed; so whom did Chirac tap as the next PM?

    Thanks Christian

The Convict Fish. I've never seen one. difficult to catch.

When I was a child, my folks were house hunting, and with my uncle's family, spent a day in Coney Island. We had dinner in Lundy's, and too a small boy, the most gigantic room I was ever in. Emmons Ave was lined with dozens of fishing boats, selling their catches to the restaurants across the street. My uncle bought some raffle ticket, and won a small boat! That convinced my folks to move there.

Gulcrapek, it's up to you to look after this place.

Don't worry. The place is doing fine without me looking after it.

If I get the energy one day in a month or so I'll go out and make a photo tour of the neighborhood.

(Sorry I don't visit this part of the forum much)

    His name is Jean-Pierre Rafarin.

This man was not part of the parisian elite of the French political life. On the contrary, he comes from Poitou-Charentes, near the Atlantic coast, a region known for its delicious butter and its douceur de vivre.
The man represents what the French call the terroir, the specific way of life of the innumerable French provincial towns and villages.
Chirac made a smart choice at a crucial time of persistent and painful questions on the French identity.

So far, Rafarin is still popular.

Wrong. He's only in charge of the police. He's lucky to have that after betraying Chirac in 1995.

See previous post. The Interior Minister is only in charge of the police?

    That's what I thought.
I might be wrong. What else could he be in charge of ?

OK, now, do you realize, Christian, that you are sabotaging this thread ?
Is that why you became moderator ? To be allowed to do so with no risk of being bashed ?

    Shame on you.
