The first plantings have begun! I'll try and get photos this weekend.
Plastic trees and silk flowers. The folks in Besonhurst love it so far.
And if I could be, who you wanted.....
Here are a few pics...trees are on the northwest corner of Pier 1.
I'm not sold on the gatehouses, let's seem what they look like when they are clad.
Also, the light poles seem ready for the fixtures soon.
The planting of new trees (anywhere) is always a good sign.
I had a weird dream last night.
All the landscaping was thousands and thousands of...

I'd take that.
I walked by today (over the Brklyn Bridge). The park looks like all asphalt paths with cement curbs. Is this really the way it is going to look?
The long "curbs" are actually the bases for the park's benches.
ZTC's 2nd and 3rd pics in post #485.

A mix of stone and concrete material was used at the pier 64 area of Hudson River Park. The esplanade is the same stone paving as the rest of the park, but the walkways are concrete block, and the edging is poured concrete.
More trees and a lawn... Not sure what that parking lot is all about behind the gate house.

I think that parking lot is going to be included in the 2nd phase of Pier 1 construction. The hotel's footprint will eventually begin about 10 yards or so behind it from that perspective.
On a different note, notice how the trees are planted very close to each other. That was done so that the park wouldn't feel barren at the beginning. They will remove some of them in the future as they grow larger.
Thanks for the groovy pics BR.
