As someone who is involved with the FDNY Memorial and the effort to preserve the footprints of WTC 1 and 2, I just wanted to let everyone know about two events this coming weekend in lower Manhattan.

Dear Family Member/Supporter,
We urge you to join us for the Second Annual "We Remember Walk TM" produced by Tuday Ministries and St. Clare's 9-11 Outreach program on Sunday, September 28th. Please assemble at Battery Park in NYC at 2:00PM. The solidarity walk to the World Trade Center site begins at 3:00 PM. We ask that you wear yellow and that you wear a yellow and black preservation ribbon (we will have ribbons available). Yellow and black have become the official colors of the bedrock footprint preservation movement. All families, survivors, rescue workers and supporters are welcome.
May we always continue to unite together in tribute to our loved ones, each
other and our country.

Warm regards,
Patricia Reilly
Coalition of 9-11 Families

Also, if you recall, there was a fireman from Squad 1 in Brooklyn who, hearing of the disaster at the WTC, left his truck at the Brooklyn side of the BB tunnel, put on his gear, and ran through the tunnel to try to help, only to be killed by falling debris.

The foundation named in his honor raises money for counseling, scholarships, and other charitable endeavours is running this event, the Tunnel To Towers Run, which happens this coming Sunday.
