As the thread starter I decline the offer. The poll was renewed yearly for a while -- a practice that should be reinstated.

Because a WS victory increases posts -- this instead implies the need for a new Yankee only thread.

I figured I'd hear from you, but I'm not sure if it's your status as OP or as RSF that's making me do extra work.

I can split off a new Yankee thread. Post #270 looks like a good place to start. Not much Yankee-Red Sox stuff after that point, except maybe A-Rod and his purse.

Agreed - Yankees need a thread, and this can be the smack talk thread.
There are also Derek Jeter and A-Rod threads, but that's fine.

When the feud is finally over, and we aust learn to get along, this thread will be closed.

Epstein: Last year Sox were in top three offensively - bottom three defensively. Rebuilding this year is in team's long-term interest.

Cashman: Granderson's left handed pull hitting a good match for new Yankee stadium. Comfortable with pitching depth.

I suppose if he gets any good, we'll hear BOOF-BOOF from the Fenway crowd whenever he enters the game.

I first thought that at least it was a real nickname, but it's his real name. Like Joba.

Most baseball nicknames today are kind of lame. A-Rod has morphed into I, K, and Whatever-Rod. Played out. Most nicknames today are just shortened surnames, like "Youk" or "Tex."

One of my favorites was No-Neck Williams. Yes, he sort of didn't have one. Baseball is a little too polite now for anything like that.

I read this in a Red Sox forum (often extremely entertaining):

Boof Bonser (born John Paul Bonser on October 14, 1981 in St. Petersburg, Florida) is a Major League Baseball right-handed pitcher for the Minnesota Twins organization. He legally changed his name to Boof after the 2001 season.

I believe there was once a no-so-great dodger pitcher in the 30's who's name was Walter "Boom-Boom" Beck. The first "Boom" for the ball of the bat, the second "Boom" for the ball off the wall.
