This is about Christo an enviromental artist known for wrapping around objects and both natural and artificial.
One of his projects were to construct a series of umberellas one in Japan and the other in the United States. In Japan, he chose to construct them in Ibaraki Prefecture, north of Tokyo while California was chosen for the United States in an area north of Los Angeles. The project took 7 years from 1984 up to 1991 and symbolize the similarities and differences in both Japanese and American life.
