Default 3 new Foster & Partners' scrapers for Sydney.

Firstly, BT Tower is already under construction downtown. It will reach 242m/794ft to the tips of its spires.

Here are 2 renderings, a CGI & a north cross-section of this office building:

    Indicting the 9 external lifts:

The other 2 Foster scrapers are located midtown. They are known as 101 Bathurst St Towers 1 & 2. The taller one will be an apartment building @ 151m/495ft and the shorter one @ 114m/374ft at this stage in the planning, will be serviced apartments.

Here are a 2 renderings. Construction will begin in the first half of 2004.

BTW Here are a few construction shots of BT Tower, only taken this week. It has 2 cores for the 9 external lifts and the floor plates are now at gound level (it was a very deep foundation pit).

Tee-hee, many have expressed so. It's kept quite up-to-date and in the offices of Sydney City Council.

Is the N.Y.C. one more archival or kept fairly up-to-date too?

Gee, there must be some residue feeling/s about Foster & Partner's World Trade Centre submissions, not that everyone has to have an opinion. Timing JonY, timing!

Most that know of the BT Tower design have mixed feelings about it. Bit of a wating game to see how the 'end product' turns out. (I'm hopeful).

As for the 101 Bathurst St Towers. it's recognised that it would be nice to add an archtiectural feature here and there, esp. at the top. Not just for superfical decoration but for superficial aesthetics LOL. A functional antenna wouldn't go astray, huh?

The NYC one is accurate to about 1995. They update when they feel like it.

I would really like to know forumers opinions on these 3 Foster & Partners' scraper designs - whether good, bad or indifferent.

The height of the spires of BT Tower will reach 794ft / 242m.

It will be 39 floors above ground and the height to roof
    will be 492ft / 150m.

As for the 101 Bathurst Street Towers, both are expected to start construction by either April/May '04.

No complaints, actually, I like it! Its quite pure, it reminds me of calm waters. As well as being nicely linear with good proportions.

As far as the previuosly Foster & Parnter's Bathurst 101 Towers 1 & 2, the taller tower will now be known as lumiere (small 'l') and the smaller tower which will be serviced apartments, to be known as Fraser Suites. All part of a complex known as 'Regent Place'.

Here is the flash web site for Regent Place: http://www.regentplace.com.au/

    EEK!

What is it with all the architects now with that truss-frame headdressing?

Is that for celular towers or something?

I wonder if they designed the building with the capacity for future expansion....

    Hmmmmm.....

Oh, one other point of contention here. I see B O V I S is the one doing the construction, and I am sure that the architect's name is on the plaquard, but who was the engineer?

I would like to see their name displayed somewhere on these constructions, ESPECIALLY during construction!!!!

    But I am baised...
