It was turning into bickering, which I am trying to avoid. Thank you.

Yeah and dont forgt to mention that its architect also designed this:

    and this....

    and this...

    And this...

Oh, wait a minute, no, he changed it to this....

...Which in a very shady fashion all the renderings do not show the flat wall. You'd figure if the architect and the developer were as proud of it as some of the apologists in this forurm they would have given us at least one rendering, or even a partial rendering of the south wall.

Thats fine Stache but I think the subject at hand was on topic, and should be allowed to continue. Thats is if teh participants can do it amicably of course

I've said my piece on the flatness of the southern-facing facade.

But to broaden the discussion to the south facade in general:

Did Gehry / Ratner EVER show the south facade in ANY of the versions of the Spruce Street Tower (either in the drawings or models)?

It seems that the public basically has been kept in the dark on that throughout the design & reveal process.

I'm waiting to jump back into the discussion, but I don't want an infraction for ignoring a moderator. I'm especially tempted because, after the warning, additional photos of buildings other than 8 Spruce Street were posted.

Your best bet is to start a new thread about buildings with blank/flat walls.

Well I am pretty sure we wont have start a new thread about Gerhy's diluted concontion and any ancillary information that puts its blank wall into prespective. Right Stache?

Most additions to the threads are very good. However, I have been here long enough to know when a debate is turning into bickering, which is what I'm trying to avoid.

I think if we have to start a new thread to discuss the comparison with blank walls then thats pretty ridiculous. Its not off topic!!

How could anyone be faulted if a post relates back to this specific building?

It seems stache was asking us to avoid going off on tangents (I plead guilty on that) that focus on structural aspects which have no relation to what is going up at 8 Spruce (i.e.: blank lot line walls, which this building does NOT have).

    The south wall isn't blank; it's non-wavy.

I still think that the point being made or debated was that flat and even blank walls can look good. It was entirely relevant, the topic of whether lot line walls are relevant was also relevant.

The moderation should have warned against the bickering being targeted not the subject.
