As mentioned in the Post on Tuesday, the controversy over the West Street Tunnel is growing and a person that I am in direct contact with that works for a firm involved in the construction of this project has informed me that this project may be totally canceled unless Goldman gets the tunnel entrance to were they want it to end or not have the tunnel built at all. if the tunnel is ended were the residents of BPC want it to end, right in front of Goldmans possible front door, the deal is off.

The residents want no tunnel, not one that ends in front of GS's HQ.

Citigroup Center is taller than the company's headquarters at 399 Park Ave.

They should just forget about the tunnel. Pataki is the only guy who wants it. I can think of many better ways to spend $800MM to improve downtown.

Nothing Goldman could really do about it. The site has an 800 foot ceiling.

Is it being built to 800ft? The height of GS in NJ is only 781ft so it technically could be taller if they wanted.

You are right. 30 Hudson in JC is 781 ft. I remember reading once that it was proposed taller. Maybe that's why I think it looks a little "stumpy."

The zoning height limit for the new site is 800 ft, so yes, GS could have made this the taller building, but for some reason, they designed it at 740 ft.

Its really boring half the buildings proposed, u/c or recently completed all hover around 750ft, TWC, 7WTC, etc evenually NY will be all flat at that height with a few sticking out!

What are the realistic changes of another 100+ storey building?
