Good, the smaller the footprint, the taller the building, hopefully. Still hoping for 1000 fter.

Actually they couldn't, luckily this site has no height restrictions, yet...

It's a plus that the site is large. If there is any opposition to height, it will come from the ballfields to the north. The tower can be located close to Vesey.

Don't forget the bus garage.

Does anybody have anymore news on this building? Are they still planning on building it?

I see no reason to believe not. The announcement was just made 2 1/2 months ago, so, we should be patient.

As for One New York Place...

It could get built, but not likely at the proposed place.

If I recall correctly 1NY place was to sit atop a transit hub of some sort and they havent yet sorted that whole mess out. Itll have to wait untill the mess is dealt with

There is no mess to be sorted out. The Fulton Transit Center project had a scoping meeting in April 2003. EIS is being prepared, and construction may start at the end of this year. In response to a question as to if any building was going to be built on top, the MTA rep said that they had no such plans.

    Fulton Transit Center Project

1 NY Place sure has legs, for a non-project.

    Maybe there's some miscommunication.

Where else in Downtown could 1 NY place be built if not on top of the transit center?
