^Yes, it is.
And is it the angle or has progress been made in the deconstruction of the Deutsch Bank building in econ_tim's 2nd pic?

I'm pretty sure there hasn't been any exterior work on this tower.
WSJ finally picked up on the littany of construction mishaps at this building - rough article in today's M&I section.
The Department of Buildings removed its stop-work order yesterday on Goldman Sachs' new 43-story building in Lower Manhattan. Work has only restarted on the lower 13 floors and netting will completely cover the building. A senior Tishman executive will be on site full-time to oversee safety. Construction was recently halted after the tower racked up 20 safety violations, including a 30-by-30-inch aluminum plate that plunged 18 stories and landed in a park. Architect Robert Woo suffered paralyzing injuries when his trailer was crushed by seven tons of aluminum wall studs that fell from the building last year.
Seems as though safety is not the #1 concern in New York when building skyscrapers.
Was it ever?
Building the ESB took 3400 workers mostly European immigrants and Mohawk nation iron workers. Five workers died during the construction. The WTC opened in 1970 after 8 years of construction, more than 10,000 workers involved in building the complex.More than 60 of them died during construction.

not that simple with this building. 2 serious incidents - one paralyzing someone not even working on the building, the other luckily not killing a completely uninvolved kid, all taking place at a site highly scrutinized re safety oncerns from day one by the surrounding resi community, and the building being built for, and owned by, a major company with significant ties to the area, which expends significant efforts on protecting its brand and reputation. this is not just another residential condo building going up. the fact that it took the second accident for GS to get involved is disappointing. better late than never though.
Dunno, I'm really bored by this project, such a waste of BPC space.
This one really sucks.
It covers the great view of the WFC from the North.
