    Owner is Istithmar.
Since the new permit application is for a 19 story building, the renderings posted must be inapplicable, as they clearly are taller.

    It's not so bad.

Don't understand why an office building isn't rising here. Permit says the architects are Brennan Beer Gorman. They do ho-hum work like the Sofitel. I won't be surprised when I'm disappointed.

Are these three buildings all part of the hotel?

No just the new building and the Knickerbocker. I don't think this has anything to do with the Bush Tower anymore. I'm wondering if they'll still need landmarks' approval...

The model photo is of the previous design where the new tower would have had shared commercial floors with the Bush Tower.

Does anyone know what's going on with this?

I've seen the rendering for the restored hotel and the addition next door as a 45+ story building. Last I heard (this morning) is that the tower will be significantly shorter.

Thanks. The DOB says the addition will be 19 stories.

How was the rendering that you saw? Nice or a lame box?

Not a lame box by any means. I kind of liked the building design itself. However, it was the wrong design for that location in my opinion. I think there needs to be a building that complement both Bush Tower and the Knickerbocker. It's more an idea for me than an image in my mind. It should be an instance for someone to say look at those THREE buildings. The new tower should make the three of them a "WOW!" trio.

    Not easy.

I'm not sure where this project is headed, but it was exciting to come across the rendering.

What's going on here? I'm surprised that nothing is happening.

According to DOB all four New Building Applications were Disapproved in July.

    Seemingly no action since then.

    Default Bush 2?

If a developer wants to get really smart, he/she can start with the notion of bringing the Bush Tower a next door neighbor that fully complements the building. How about ANOTHER Bush Tower, as identical as possible, then clean the exterior of the original so as to make a matched pair? Now, THAT's entertainment (and smart marketing).

Thanks. I wonder if the owner is trying to buy the Bush Tower too. NY now has a fair amount of vaginal buildings between the Bush and Beaver towers. The more the merrier!

Build an identical tower next to it? That sounds a little weird.
