    Maybe too much hot steam coming out of them for plants?

    lol... yes that would inhibit growth, wouldn't it!

    but what about the big structure? it looks so...plunked in, and sort of sterile. At first, I thought I liked it.

    I vaguely remember some wood or something organic in the original design. was it the shape that became more angular as well? I don't have time right now to look for the initial renderings of it, but I'm trying to figure out how I feel about this facade.

    There will be a (double ?) row of trees on the west between the structures and West Street, plus more trees on the east and south -- maybe some in between the two structures.

    My guess is that they will somewhat "disappear" within the context of the whole plaza space. A good vine planted around the perimeter would do a world of good.

    There aren't too many images / renders of the Memorial that include the two structures, but this is one I found showing trees all around ...

    This could double as a Hurricane Katrina memorial also!

    They started installing "panels" on the south side of the building, so I got some good shots.
    The concrete is coated with (I guess) a sealer that darkens it. The screens are some sort of close weave fabric that hooks onto a frame. You can see that they haven't been pulled taut.

    I can't believe that the heavy standoff frame was constructed just to hold these flimsy screens. I'm guessing there's more, but I don't see the look they're trying to achieve.

    Let's hope they are well screened by trees

    The "film" looks awful--like old black-out curtains or something.

    But the museum exterior looks amazing!

    Yeah, great pics, 325ccr!!!

    One question;

    The facade on the Museum and the 2 smaller buildings looks nice. Why aren't they at least considering using the same facade for the base of 1 WTC?
