Thread: WTC Memorial - by Michael Arad (Architect) and Peter Walker (Landscape)

On CNN they just said that the Ladder 3 firetruck that was damaged on 9/11 will be moved from JFK to the 9/11 museum and showed some footage of it in the hangar and next to it was a white "outline" of an ambulance, which must have been what we saw being lowered in yesterday. Damn I wish I had TIVO so I could watch it again.

EDIT: Thanks for the pics, lofter!

Are these artifacts being put in the same building where the Last Columns is on display?

Yes all the large artifacts are in the Great Hall which is basically right under where that opening in the plaza is.

Yeesh. Photo in post #3992 looks like a body bag being lifted.

When all the towers, memorial, etc. are done, who else is going to stand there and listen to the waterfalls and the rustling of the tree leaves and just weep?

    I know I will.

When I first saw this on the webcam, I thought maybe I was looking at an old image from yesterday (when Ladder 3 was lowered in) that somehow got stuck, but it's not the same as any that lofter poster yesterday. So, I guess they're lowering in TWO firetrucks...

Apparently the vehicle going in today is Engine 21:

In addition to Ladder 3, several other apparatus will be part of the exhibition, including Engine 21 and an FDNY ambulance.

    News from FDNY:

Yesterday: Ladder 3's Apparatus from Sept. 11, 2001, Installed at 9/11 Memorial Museum

They seem to be putting another coat of black on the floor of the North Pool.
