Battery Park City has the largest collection of the boring-est buildings on the planet.

Really? They are boring but at least they are each different.
Especially considering the majority of residential towers around the world are similar looking concrete extrusions.

We have "brown" versions of those right here in NY as well.

The buildings are less of a problem than the elevated highway separating the city from the water.

The lobby is nice but the base is really lacking.

I'll post pics of the West Street side soon.

The entire stretch of Battery Place is kind of deadly sterile.

    South from 3rd Place

    North from 2nd Place

To its credit, it looks better when there are leaves on the trees. 181st st, where I live, looks desolate when the trees are bare, but it's beautiful in the summer, and the buildings here are anything but sterile.

I'm happy at least to see that they've installed some trees on the Battery Place side of the Visionaire. Google Street View showed no trees on that side whenever it drove down that section of Battery Place and took photos. Still, the trees mitigate but don't make up for the blank grey stone that faces the street for much of its fronting. You'd think a more graceful base would have been demanded by BPCA.

Well, this is how it looks right now.

Although sometimes this winter, it looked like this.
