    Excellent!

I like this new Whitney well enough, but I like the GWBBS better. Certainly as a piece of architecture. GWBBS could use some long overdue TLC (which I guess keeps getting pushed back).

This isn't the final cladding. At least I hope not.

Gansevoort St is going to change when the museum opens.

How's the thing at 837 Washington going? Figured I'd ask since it's so close to here, but out of frame from the webccam.

Didn't get too close. I guess they're digging out the foundation.

Yesterday I peeked through the fence at 837 Washington. Foundation walls are completed in concrete. Looks like the next step will be steel installation.

It certainly looks like there will be an additional layer inserted atop those panels.

Like Zippy, I'm hopeful that's the case.

I know I'm a broken record, but the adjacent Interstate Meat Co. Must come down.

You want something big to go in there? Totally block out the entire west view from the HL?

Leave it be. Let there be some meatpacking business left in the meatpacking district.

The Gansevoort Market Meat Center building is owned by NYC Economic Development Corporation. That site granted air rights to the Whitney, but still must be worth a fortune these days.

Despite the 2011 lease renewal for current meat tenants (running through 2032), it'd be no surprise if the City opens up bids for that site in the next few years.

Easements & Leaseholds from the 2011 lease:

Plus it brings back fond memories of one of my weddings.
