Listening to gospels in NYC

Hello everybody,

we are going to be in NYC from Aug 7 till Aug 12.

I would like to go to some church in Harlem (??) to listen to the gospels.
Could somebody give me some ideas? Where to go? When ? (should it be Sunday, morning/lunch time/afternoon etc)?
Is the entrance free for tourist?
Should I dress in a special way?

I think it might be viewed as a bit disrespectful to treat someone's church as a tourist destination. I think you'd enjoy what's known as a Gospel Brunch.
