Thread: Cityscapes

    Default Cityscapes

    Hi guys,

I recently moved into a new dormitory located on 26th Street and 2nd Avenue. I wasn't anticipating on an exciting outside view (since last year I got the lowest floor with the outside window situated above the entrance, good for when there's a fire but not that exciting otherwise) but ended up getting the penthouse. I'm still surprised but nonetheless addicted to the absolutely gorgeous view. I would like to share that view and provide the same sense of excitement to others (and it's also the extent of my participation at this site since I feel I can best contribute via photography):

If I weren't so tired, I'd be a sickly green with envy.

As for the poll, mixed would do best for me.

Looks like the "views" are winning.

I'd have to say that I'd pick the history of the area. I love wandering around in the financial district on the weekend, when there's literally no one around.

Great views. Those three high-rises across the river in pic 2 sure look lonely. Long Island City could use a few dozen skyscrapers.

I work somewhere in there, right by the QBrigde. I hope at least few hi-rises will go up in that area because there's a lot of poorly developed blocks, factory buildings that are better to be demolished, or just emptiness that can be used for new developments.

It's always been a dream of mine to goto NYU, but alas I was to (ehem too) stupid. But baruch college is near that dorm (it's on lex and 24-25th.) and we get some good views from the top floors of the "vertical" campus that look similar.

How do you get to the main NYU campus from there everyday? NYU bus? or do you take the 6 train?
