Decent, yes -- but I'd sacrifice it to do away with the blank walls above.
The little white building in the middle is actually decent. There's some contiguous, lowrise crap on the east side of PAS that I'd like to see redeveloped.

I hope that something happens with this project soon for two reasons. Firstly, its design is magnificent. Secondly, the parking lot on which it will be built is a POS.
Great location for this tower. I've known about the plans for a while, but I guess I didn't pay much attention to exactly where it would go. I worked at 432 Park Ave South (a block and a half north) for a while and always found the subway entrance on the SW corner of 28th & Park really annoying - especially in winter and rain. Not to mention the parking lot. Ugh. This building needs to be built - if for the subway entrance alone. I think the tower itself would be a great addition to the street-scape of Park Ave South.
I am ELATED to announce that the junky "art gallery" located in 398 Park Ave. So. has a sign in the window stating that it's liquidating because it lost its lease!!! The proposed tower is magnificent, and the current building and parking lot are P's O S! Hopefully, demolition will start soon!
While that is a good sign (pardon the pun), I wouldn't exactly jump for joy just yet.
We've seen in some instances in the past, a closed store sign doesn't mean they're getting ready to build.
Or more banks & Duane Reades in our future.
This building is so awesome, they could put an Al Qada recruitment center in its retail portion (let alone a Duane Reade or a bank), and I'd remain enthusiastic.

I asked the guy in the parking lot on Jan. 8, 2007 if they have any monthly spots available, and he said no. Unlike prior times, the lot was largely empty.
No as in all space has been taken or no as in we're closing soon?
Will this tower finally come soon?
