While I don't think anyone expected this to proceed any time soon, I hope that this development is a merely temporary setback:

This is Gansevoort Park South and it's actually considered 420 park ave. Not sure if a moderator wants to change the thread name or not. I can provide some detailed information about this project when it becomes available. I'm the facade project manager on this job. Once we get going in the shop(it's unitized), which should be within a month, I usually follow it on my twitter page. I did it with my last job, The Arches at Deer Park. It was pretty fun. Post a lot of pictures, and try and get into the nuts and bolts of the project. Here's a pretty good rendering...

Thanks a lot. Much better looking in that rendering too.

What's going on with the empty building at 398 Park Ave. South? It's my understanding that the parking lot at 400 PAS is still in operation.

Umm Nick Mango, there's no need to change this thread's title. You posted in the wrong thread. The proposal you are talking about belongs here, in its own thread. It's on the next block up.

400 PAS is another project altogether. It's a beauty by Portzamparc, not Miami-esque mediocrity like the one you posted by the Stephen Jacobs Group.

(Looks like I'm the only one here who is keeping track of these things.)

Rather rude to be so dismissive of a professional who has offered to post inside info on a project that is actually being built.

Nick Mango: Don't let that stuff bother you. Please stick around and keep us posted as 420 rises.

Right and you are the leading example of politeness on the forum.

Point to where I was rude to NM please?

Welcome Nick Mango, thank you for the rendering!

I think the building looks great, I love the one column that changes colors at the forefront.

This will definitely stand out on Park. I don't think there's anything like it on Park, from E 14th upwards....

FYI - I changed the title of the thread that Antinimby linked us to. It is now 420 Park Avenue South. I also moved it from the Real Estate Forum to Architecture.

Nick, please continue the updates over there We're all interested in following the progress. Bickering about this project should be moved to that thread as well.

Portzamparc gave a presentation at AIA last night and stated that construction of 400 PAS will commence in 2010. That beginning date also now appears for the project on the Portzamparc website.
