I see it described as a landmark but I so not see it being called landmarked.

Then one day it will sprout a tower, blocking the 90 million dollar views at One 57.

    No one owns their view.

Here's a nice picture - apparently the crane has had another issue:

Yep, and tornado warnings (!!!) for this afternoon ...

'Unstable Load' On One57 Crane Shuts Down 57th Street

As stated by one Curbed commenter:

It broke hauling up all those loads of cash to the penthouse.

Wtf is up with that glass on the tip. It reminds me of the bad old days when people painted plywood blue and put it in burnt out windows.

From standing on the ground, they MIGHT be louvers for the mechanical space. It's really hard to tell, though. They may also be closer (but may never match) the building once it's clean.

I think that it looks great. I hope that Nordstrom turns out nicely. The original renderings look like crap.

This image shows a change of color in that area near the top of the massive exhaust pipe -- oops, tower:

Nah, cash is light. It's all the gold bullion.

I don't always walk under defective tower cranes, but when I do, it's always at One57. Stay thirsty my friends.
