This building is just so absolutely awful looking

These architects should never work again

The only time I can stomach this building...at night, when all you can see is it's height.

They are taking forever to complete this thing. I don't mind the design though, I like it.

If anyone should not work again its Vinoly; to put up the crap that he did given the chance to build NYC's tallest roof; 432 Park is a loser design.

When this building is fully occupied, and many of the interior apartment lights are on: I think, given the tall slender height, it will be a lovely sight to behold.

It will be empty even once the sales to the Oligarchs close.

From a few days ago; as seen from all directions (had to break this one down into two videos as to not make one that's too long).

This building looks so awful compared to the other supertall residential buildings going up right now. The Billionaires who bought units are probably scrambling to figure out how to get a refund so they aren't seen walking into that leprosy infested turd

The shape of the building is very art-deco, streamlined, very New York. The east and west facades definitely were meant to give a jazzy, glittery effect, which is in keeping with the deco motif. But the panels are too dull and too blocky. The glass of either the north or south facades would have been much better. It's still a decent building, but a missed a opportunity.

Looking at the pic Trepye just posted, I figured out what was bugging me that I couldn't put my finger on: I think it would have looked better if they'd clad the building in the same steel and finish as the New York Gehry building. Art Deco but very New York.

One57 and its relation to the CitySpire cluster right next to it; as seen from several angles

This is still my favorite highrise cluster in the entire city. I have always loved the Cityspire/Carnegie Hall/Metropolitan Tower grouping, and would have never believed that soon enough they will be joined by a much taller tower across the street, but now that it happened, the balancing of the group almost feels... off.
