They're working on the basement level now. So it'll be at street level.

Still sad we lose this view from the park.

But, this view will get even more incredible.

    City Spire.

CitySpire Center (the rounded building) is 817 feet tall, so the new building will be about 200 feet taller.

walked by this site yesterday, and the crew was hard at work. couldn't get a good view of the progress, though.

In a city where gems like 120 W 57th, et al. are brutally attacked by Khandahar-on-Hudson's Talibanesque "developers," how is it that crap like this POS next to Carnegie 57's site remains?

The Talibanesque "developers" in NY have expedited the city's journey on the Bamiyan Express. Perhaps all of our "developers' " names should be preceded by "Mullah."

Khandahar-on-Hudson "developers" arriving for a conference.

Easier to see in from the West 58th side. No doubt the views down inside from the luxury condos across 57th to the south are fantastic.

What's the point of looking inside? It'll be above ground in a few weeks anyway.

Lofter, have any of the crap buildings on 58th (behind 225 W 57th) been razed yet?

At the other Extell site one block to the west? The old brownstone townhouse recently came down.

    Thanks, Lofter.

I meant the buildings on the north side of 58th where Extell planned a 20 story (approx.) tower.

This building needs its own thread.

    These buildings are landmarked.

You can also see that 220 Central Park South (the white brick one) is almost empty. They were having trouble removing some holdouts.
