Nice to see Lofter still rockin the Motorola RAZR. I'm so thrilled that this development is moving forward. We need something sleek and substantial to dilute the clumsiness of 1 Penn Plaza.

It's way more ancient than a RAZR

I think this comment from Brookfield leaves open the possibility that one tower will be larger than the other. Asymmetry would be the best way to go ...

Q Tell me about the project.

A There are four structures on our site. Along Ninth Avenue there will be two roughly 2 million-square-foot buildings.

And the image on the website strikes me as more a marketing logo than a rendering, so probably not the best basis for concluding that the towers will be of even height.

The Manhattan West website has some animations:

One page has a 2+ minute vid on the Deck Engineering & Technology

Another page has 3 vids, showing Phasing for each of the two towers and for deck construction.

It looks lame compared to Related's project.

Nice animations posted by lofter: thanks. Those interior view show sheer glass from floor plate all the way up to the ceiling: seem like there is not going to even be window mullions. Personally, I do not like the 'fishbowl' effect of total floor-to-ceiling AND wall-to-wall windows. The exterior building design is very handsome looking - this is surly not run of the mill architectural design work.

EDIT - OH, those are office interiors. Thats different, a totally cool look for a commercial interior.

Notice the corners? They're showing rounded glass, no seam or edge at the corners.

Same deal. The way this is going to work is really neat. It's tensioned pre-fab concrete plates over the tracks. The two buildings are actually founded on the corners of the lot, and the hole middle will just be plaza. The deck construction is not unlike the way they are building the elevated portions of the silver line in DC, except the lifting gantry will span the entire tracks for placing the deck.
