The slope of the street really makes this an interesting site. I like the way this design handles it.

Does anyone know when the construction of the college will be completed? I agree....the building looks pretty good.

Will this building be located directly behind the beautiful John Jay structure on Amsterdam? Also, John Jay occupies a POS structure on the east side of Amsterdam diagonally across from the nice one. Does anyone know if that will be razed and sold to a developer once the new building has been completed?

PS: Is the new building already UC?

^^ Construction has started - you can best see if from 11th Ave, between 58th & 59th street. The new building is directly behind Haaren Hall, which is the nice one you mentioned

Thanks for the info. Do you know anything about the POS that John Jay occupies on the east side of Amsterdam diagonally across from its nice, old structure. E.g., will it be razed and sold to a developer once the new building has been completed?

^^ I'm actually not sure about that one. I think that you are refering to North Hall, which was built in the early 70s by John Jay.

I don't know a lot of about John Jay, or other Cuny schools, but I'm under the impression that John Jay has doubled or tripled in enrollment since the mid 80s, which may mean that the POS is an integral part of their campus (as well as a total eye sore)

That makes lots of sense both logistically and financially.

After this new building goes up, they'd move over there and sell NH.

Let's hope that happens 'cause like LL said, NH is really a piece of #&$@.
