    Default London Projects

Check out this new proposal for London.

I'm very impressed with London skyscraper architecture these days. Very high quality designs in my opinion...

Pretty nice, but the one proposed by Piano ("Shard of Glass") for the River's other side is even better, imo, because it's simpler.

a bit too dubai-ish for me

Something about the design irks me.

Maybe the dash of purple? A bit flashy for a staid, conservative place like the City of London.

London's recent construction and design proposals have been anything but conservative.

London is one of those few great cities that I wish had never built skyscrapers in their historic center. Peripheral cluster developments like Canary Wharf and Southwark are fine (in a perfect world, One Canada Square would have been replaced by The Gherkin), but nothing so sight-obscuring in the City or Westminster, and maybe also around in the Bloomsbury/Fitzrovia/Camden area near Regent's Park (Telecom Tower + Centre Point + 286 Euston = Eeew). With due respect to Richard Rogers, I want to see Wren's churches more than I do the Lloyd's Building.

If you take away Saint Paul's Cathedral, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, and Tower Bridge, then London's skyline starts to look remarkably like Tokyo's.

I like the design, especially the crown, but the location is arguable, and i don't know a lot about london's geography. The only problem that i can site and want changed is that flash of purple....:'(.

This reminds me of that tower that was proposed a long time ago...looked like a giant dildo...a rainbow dildo, maybe i can get the link.

I'm surprised no one cried NIMBY at this comment...

I completely love it... Is just different than what I have seen before. Diference is always good. Built that thing!

A render of the rather impressive base.

wow, the base is the best part of the building. It will look dated quickly, but in a good way, like the TWA terminal

They can build it in Hyde Park if that base is the result.
