    Default Help with a building

    i've always wondered what the deal is with this building that has the three long shafts going up the facade:

    Bottom-most picture, building at the right-centre. The shafts are on the opposite side.

    They are always dark in nightime pictures i've seen. Panoramic elevators?It's bugging me...

    You're referring to it as "right center" in a picture with literally dozens of buildings in it, and the feature you're wondering about is on the other side, thus not visible?

    Here is an image from Top Of The Rock that shows off the three dark shafts on the building:

    The Life Insurance Tower is just above and to the right of it.
    What are those shafts for

    Those aren't shafts. They are a design element and a part of the faade.
