This is a view of Dock St looking North (the train station is behind the photographer)

I work in that brick building on the left (the taller one in the background). As a matter of fact I'm posting from there right now.

Here's a view of Dock St out of my office window I just took (you can see the same grey building...it's an Antiques store) and the new apartments under construction.

There is a huge amount of development going on in Stamford right now, most of it in the South End.

But right in downtown you have the 75 Tresser Blvd building, which is a huge complex the scope of which has not been seen since the unfortunate Avalon era that Stamford underwent in the 1990s. The building takes up the entire south side of Tresser Boulevard between Washington Blvd and Clinton Ave. The side facing Washington Blvd is loud due to the city's busiest intersection; the side facing Clinton Ave is across from a low-income area. I don't know how much they're charging (the rates are not up yet, though they'll start leasing this summer - http://75tresser.com/) but it will probably be a ridiculous sum given the issues with this site. Then again, it's close to the investment banks, and those junior investment bankers are the types of folks who this will be marketed to, so none of this probably matters as long as there's a community room where they can play whatever drinking game they invented during their fratboy years (which never ended).

The other thing is that soon they will demolish some historical buildings on Atlantic Street between 1 Atlantic St and the Palace Theater in order to put up a 7-story Marriott Residence Inn (as if Stamford does not have enough hotels). There is an article about it here: http://www.stamfordadvocate.com/news...rd-4520333.php.

A photo of the building that will be torn down is here: http://rjschwartz.blogspot.com/2013/...ilding-is.html.

Another big project currently getting underway in Stamford is the construction of a new mid-rise for Stamford Hospital on the west side of town, roughly in the area of Finney Ln and Spruce St.

Not on the Stamford side of the New Canaan branch, but it looks like you are in the market for some top-end real estate. I would suggest looking over to Darien:

Hard to believe, but Stamford now has a larger population than Hartford

I think Hartford and New Haven will take off in a few years , Bridgeport will start to aswell due to Black Rock & East Bridgeport which have huge redevelopment plans.

Hartford is done. New Haven and Bridgeport are a different story.
