    Default Apt 15-K

Is apt 15-K at the Atelier a 1-bedroom or a studio? Anyone have any idea?

^ per this plan, the K line is a studio from floors 4-12 and 14-21.

    Default Moving to the Atelier

I'm a renter from New Gotham, moving to the Atelier. I wasn't able to find much info the way you can from residents of apartments on ratings sites. Most were padded by brokers praising it. This site, while over my head, has been the most informative. Oh, and your photos are amazing!!

When I moved to New Gotham on 43rd between 10th and 11th, it was a very nice building and priced well compared to much more expensive luxury buildings in the area. I realized that it was lower end luxury, but I moved there from Broadway Breslin (29th and Broadway), so it was the Trump Towers in my eyes!

Silver Towers is more like Silver University. I can't imagine sharing amenities with so many.

The street, unlike 43rd between 10th and 11th, looks like a nice part of 5th Avenue in the 50s (near the Apple 5th Ave. Store). Gorgeous!

Based on my reading, it seems that the living conditions won't be perfect, but where are they perfect? Even the uber wealthy have neighbor/building maintenance types of issues. The difference is that they probably also own a home somewhere to get away.

I'm losing my awesome indoor, not shared, high floor view of the city by leaving New Gotham, so I hope I'm making the right choice. It's a view I never thought I'd give up, but I was luuuurrred by the Atelier

We shall see after I actually move in. Any thoughts/forums for Atelier residents?

The roof terrace of Atelier Condo is absolutely the best place to view the Fleet Week Parade of Ships. It would be great if one of the Atelier residents invited me to the terrace!

Revival Rumors Continue for Long-Stalled Project Atelier 2

    by Sara Polsky

A couple of developer types started chatting back in June about reanimating Atelier 2, the zombie condo ghost at 605 West 42nd Street. The plan had previously been chopped from a 45-story, Costas Kondylis-designed tower to a much squatter two-story retail space, but a stronger market revived talk of building the full tower after all, this time as rentals. New York YIMBY spotted a new rendering, above on the right, in the September issue of Real Estate Forum, which is the closest thing we've seen so far to a sign of life.

Anyone in the Silver Towers across the street, paying $4K per month in rent for a high floor with a north view of Midtown is going to be really excited about this big slab going up.

SOOOOoooooo. I ran by here in the NYC Half this morning, and there's all new construction equipment on site. There's also all new Tishman (An AECOM Company) signs up all over, and new NYC Project signs saying this "project" is scheduled for completion 4th Quarter 2015. It's getting hot in here.

2007 all over again, in a good way.

They need to design this tower all over again, in a good way.

I agree. I hope that they don't use that crap design.

Live bisweb filings show 45 stories and 515 ft. This is different from the 57 story filings from 2006. Indeed, it's a whole NB permit. Architect is still Costas Kondylis. No docs attached to the NB permit.

I believe Kondylis has retired (finally).

This rendering has to be a bit more recent since the Silver Towers are completed in it.
