is that a ups facility to the north? any prospects for redevelopment?

and what about the site to the west? isn't that owned by the chinese government?

can New York City do without a UPS facility and a PRC consulate? Can everything be replaced by high-rise apartments for douchy finance guys? Only time will tell.

I believe it's not just a reg. facility but a major NE hub.

They could always move it to Queens.

Move it to the Bronx or Jersey, and sell the prime Midtown land for $$$.

That facility must have enormous air rights.

I assume that the Chinese will redevelop their site one day.

That area west of 11th avenue was recently rezoned to M2-4. It's to remain manufacturing with some commercial with a height limit of 135 feet. Hell's Kitchen's residents didn't want to be "walled in" and wanted to still see the sunsets.

There's a good chance that area will be rezoned again in 15 years.

No, the one in the photo is on the far west side in a not-so-prime location. Is there another UPS facility in a prime Midtown location?

That is the only one in Manhattan, and when Hudson yards is built it Will be a prime Midtown west location.
