The airconditioning vents are ugly. Why do some buildings have them and others don´t... is there a big savings doing it the exposed way? Really cheap looking.

I agree, it makes the building look like a 1980 building...

If they have the standard units for HVAC, they will take up lots of space in the rooms. Very bad idea for what looks like a nice glass tower.

Well, I know several ppl here don't like the PTAC units, but like it or not, it seems to me, alot of buildings still use them. Yes I agree they are alot more economical then running a ton of ductwork all over a building. I still think the building, when completed, will be attractive.

I currently live in the New Gotham bldg a block away from the Atlier. I really enjoy living in the area and think this bldg has a lot of potential. Any word on when the sales office will open? As you can tell by my thread count, I'm a newb to this board and real estate in general. Is the best way to "get in early" just going to the sales office as soon as they open? Basically I'm interested in purchasing for the first time in my life, but I don't know how to get my foot in the door, as far as new developments. Are bldg's like this always on a first come first serve basis? What could I expect for maintenance on a new development? inline with older bldgs?? Sorry for getting ahead of myself and throwing out all these questions.

This one is looking good -- and from a distance definitely improves the look of the River Place across 42nd St. -- mainly by overshadowing and minimizing it.

Just for my own curiosity....what does that mean when you see the floor plates? Does that mean the construction company is doing everything on the cheap side?
