This one looks really sharp. Pre-cast panels are going in up high.

I agree. This tower is beautiful. The granite and the unique windows really make this building. It's shape is not that different from Gwathmey's downtown W (which also has a nice curved base), yet the high-end facade here -- versus ubiquitous glass there -- distinguish this tower.

The owners of the little building west of this should clean it and remove its fire escapes. It's a diamond in the rough.

I really wish that this entire area is landmarked. It has so many beautiful buildings that I hope don't meet the wrecking ball.

This one looks great, just shows you can do modern, classy detailing.

    So simple, yet so beautiful.

    Thanks for the pics.

These guys understand that the most important aspect of a skyscraper is that the elements must say "VERTICAL" above all else. Here the parts come together to say just that.

Just look at the way that canted glass catches the light of the sky! Marvelous!

This building is actually turning out a lot better than the renderings of it would indicate. When I first saw the renderings it looked like it would have a lot of visual focus on the glass, and a very 'modern' look. I am very pleased with how visible the stone is. Really has a New York feeling to it, I think.

Also seems to be going up at a pretty rapid pace, which is always a good thing. Still can't find any information about who will be handling the sales of this building though. Although I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up with Corcoran Sunshine.

Limestone (or faux limestone) is my top choice for a building's exterior. It weathers beautifully and presents a distinguished, classy look. The Empire State Building or Rockefeller Center would not look nearly as good were they faced in brick instead of limestone. This building is looking pretty snazzy.

The developer is the BI&DI REAL ESTATE S.P.A. (“BI&DI Group”) out of Italy (but of course, given how great this one looks).

This rendering seems to show a revised tower, now with no visible mechanical floor (akin to what we see going up) ...

For once the rendering looks worse than the actual building.

Great in all aspects, but I don't care for those windows. They look like open awnings. If they kept them flat, they would've played in with the neo-Art Deco look much better.

^ You've missed the whole point of this building -- which is to capture the light of the sky to create luminous magic.

    So sorry.

Maybe I'll just need to see more of it finished to pass the final judgement then. So far, I'm not seeing the effect.
