I saw this when I was in NY. The windows are amazing. This building is really nice.

^ Talked his clients into it. Think how hard that is when there's a couple hundred grand on the line.

He had a good manner that got better as he aged.

I'm glad he was successful in persuading his clients. These windows are magnificent.

In fact, windows on buildings -- as on houses -- make a huge difference. So many dumpy brick boxes in Manhattan would be so much nicer if they had windows with grids, cross heads at the top and botton of the window and shutters.

I still don't see why you like the windows, only part of the building I find ugly... going to hold my judgment until I've seen the effect from the inside tho, since I firmly believe the inside of an apartment is more important than the outside

They're going to reflect light in an interesting way.

They sure don't seem to reflect light in any special way right now, as far as I can tell? And I'm not sure how this is going to change later in development, I assume the windows are 'finished' as is?

Or do you mean into the apartments?

When it's done, and all the glass is clean, I think it will shimmer as you move past it sometimes.

It's nice to see on-site photos; and fairly sharp images for a cellphone camera. It would be great to see "those newer ones" as well.

    Thanks for posting.

Those pics are very cool. I assume that you are somewhat related to the project since you get on-site access, do you know who will be handling sales?

This building has continuously impressed whenever I walk past it. Not a bad legacy to leave behind. Are there any other Gwathmey buildings still to go up in NYC (not counting the Cheney bunker across from the UN), or is this his swan song?

I thought 123 Washington was from the same firm as well. I don't know how involved he was in that building or this one. I'm sure there is work of his going up elsewhere too, but that's what I know off the top of my head here in NYC.
