I was thinking about how this building would be put into play from the Pulaski Skyway. 1WTC and 4WTC just seem to blend in, but damn! 2WTC's diamond tops will be seen from around the tri-state area! I thought about how it might look when it was completed and it just blew my mind.

This is my favorite building, it gives focus and personality to the complex and makes a profound striking statement. It's the cherry on the top, so to speak. Without this building, the site will always look like missing that special something from my point of view. So, it better be built sooner or later

Really, this building MAKES the entire site, without it, the combination of buildings appears a little bland, sorry to say. In a way, it is sad that the reconstruction has turned into such a chore, and by the time it is finished, it could be 20 years or so from 9/11. I find this unacceptable that it would take so long to rebuild from this tragedy.

Yes, apart from 1WTC this tower is essential to the complex. 4WTC with its minimalistic design is a filler and 3WTC with its latest redesign and height reduction will be another 08/15 tower. So it's up to 2WTC to make the complex something special. Without it, the new WTC would look kind of "boring". I even would go so far to call this tower more beautiful than 1WTC, especially since we are probably getting a butt- ugly antenna.

As far as I'm concered they should have started with this one and not 4WTC after 1WTC...

It's definitely the best of the bunch. I really wish more attention would have been paid to leasing this tower before 4WTC or even 3WTC. Morgan Stanley just signed onto 800,000 sq ft at 1 New York Plaza, a dreary midcentury blight on the Lower Manhattan skyline. That alone plus their additional option for 300k sq ft more could have kept the cranes at the 2WTC site busy.

Maybe it's better that this building did not go up now. It's the best candidate of the bunch for value-engineering.

Office vacancies have been declining nationally, but new construction has lagged. It's still a buyer's market, and will probably stay that way this year. I'd rather see this building go on the market in an environment where the developer doesn't have to make financial concessions to a potential tenant.

Yes, that is clear to me. Those times "build it and they'll come" are over- noone wants an empty tower, as glorious as it might be.

I just hope 2WTC won't have a height reduction (or God forbid a redesign) as 3WTC did. It would simply kill the tower.
