Hopefully the top won't look so askew and random when finished. But it looks really odd in renders.
Maybe the top of that diamond will be an inddor observation area.

This tower isn't publicly financed like 1WTC, and therefore I would assume Silverstein would prefer to sell the top space for tens of millions of dollars rather than deal with the logistics of having the public enter the space. Unfortunate consequence, but such is the private domain. Whoever the execs are who get to reside on the highest levels of 2WTC will certainly know they have 'made it' in good ol' Sinatra fashion.

The Western Crane Cab has been taken down!!!
Was there last night and over heard some guys talking... They are taking it down because construction has stopped and also heard the same will happen on tower 3 soon
yes, and heard the reason was because they do not have enough tenants
what a disgrace
just sad but it was pretty much expected
At least it'll give us a good 5 years - if not more - to appreciate Towers 1 and 4. Heh. What a strange complex it is going to be for the first decade. Towers 1, 4, and 7. I can just imagine people who aren't familiar with the complex wondering what the hell is going on if they need to go down there for business.
Will they build 2&3 out for retail at the base?
LOL - chock full of counterfeit handbags -
