    ,

It's destiny, such a fantastic site just can't be turned into a befitting piece of architecture worthy of the 57th street corridor. Because today, you can call any 500 sq ft hole in the wall a "luxury residence" as long as it has a GE Profile refrigerator and perhaps a Miel oven. Don't forget the Toto toilet [/quote]

GE is bottom of the line,
in the new hi end Condo Building's were talking about a Sub-Zero Refrigerator and a Wolf or Viking oven's
    and POGGENPOHL or POLIFORM/Varenna kitchens

    Lot's still empty. What gives?

I looked at Nos. 52, 54 and 56 West 57th Street on propertyshark, and they all seem to be owned by the same entity, 5657 Realty Corp. Since the buildings are empty, I wonder why no development is occurring. Jeff Park posted something about Vornado developing an office tower on 57th. They own 50 West 57th next door which is a beautiful building. I'd hate to lose it.

Any update on this site? Is there a new forum for this topic? The Department of State lists SCHOEMAN, UPDIKE & KAUFMAN, LLP. as a C\O for 5657 REALTY CORP.

Has the demise of these pieces of garbage finally come? The DOB website shows that an application to raze No. 56 has been filed, and applications for "facade repairs" recently were filed for No. 52.

LL: Get out the lotion ...

Sidewalk shed and scaffolding have gone up at 56 W 57 (pic below).

Demo Permit issued 8.18; work here should start soon.

He's out of lotion. Used up the whole bottle just on Sarah alone. Spit works, too.

    Lofter,

Thanks for the update! This is awesome news. This site is on my top 25 list of my most hated parcels in Manhattan. Hopefully, this prime site won't be wasted like the time share hotel that's rising on 57th St. I hope that it gets a limestone gem like the one Pei designed on 56th St.

I wonder if the white, brick POC on the corner is a rental. I'd love to see it razed too.

I was back in civilization for one day last week and passed by this site. I was elated to see that the little piece of junk on the right was finally razed. Hopefully, No. 52 will be razed soon too.

There's some new Shed and reno permits pulled as of a few weeks ago, but I'm not seeing a refiling of the NB permit from 2005. I'll keep an eye out.

Thanks. I believe that the same company owns 52, 54 and 56, so maybe they're going to raze 52 and build something.
