Blame that ^^^ on my cruddy cell-cam ...

In person it looks fantastic -- almost liquid.

Again my cam sucks, but thought y'all might want to know that across the street at 25 Bond they've finally removed the shroud on the back-side facing Bleecker (the front-side on Bond is still covered).

    It looks like this rendering:

Looking at the rear of 25 Bond up Shinbone Alley (you can also see it from an angle if you stand in front of the Sullivan building on Bleecker at the head of Crosby Street -- it's tucked away down the leg of Shinbone) ...

40 Bond Update #1: Sunglasses Time!

    Monday, February 26, 2007, by ROK88

It hasn't been long since we last reported on Ian Schrager's luxe new development, 40 Bond. Now sunglasses are recommended when viewing the undulating green glass that Ian and his gang are putting up on the facade. The stainless steel ribs went up a couple of weeks back. Now all the parts of this lip-smacking glass and metal sandwich are really coming together.

Not much more to say, but lots to looks at. Tip: It looks even sexier up close and personal. Which, considering past comments, should make 40 Bond fan JJ very happy.

40 Bond Update #2: View From the Top

Tuesday, February 27, 2007, by Lockhart

Following yesterday's street-level look at the facade of Ian Schrager's Noho development 40 Bond, a Curbed reader emails from on high: "Glass mullions going up on 40 bond. Wanted to see if anything is known about 40 and 48 Bond's recently glazed neighbor across the street."

Hold on a sec: ladies and gentlemen: your new East Village skyline! We've got Ian's penthouse-to-be there on the left, and of course the just-opened Bowery Hotel (N.B. website now live) holding court in the center-right. And glorious new development, as far as the eye can see! Not quite Mordor, but not bad for starters.

Saw it the other day - it was a gray and overcast day but I was surprised how electric glass looks. Looks fantastic, though it's still hard to put it in context with the whole street.

    That was my impression.

The first photo was taken before direct sun reached the building. The facade never looks as blazingly bright as the Curbed photos.

A recent photo on Flickr. The backyard area certainly looks smaller than I expected.
