from the DOB web site, it looks like Trump is NOT using COSTAS KONDYLIS
he is going with Handel Architects.

Home of Michael Arad, creator of the worst memorial design ever.

I think it looks great. 45 stories in midtown would be nothing, but 45 stories in this area is an instant neighborhood landmark.

It's a pretty rendering. I think that in reality, however, it will most likely be opaque.

It does add a ton to the neighborhood. It will be awfully large though compared to everything else around there. My guess is that (if it is ever built) it is a big boost as it will drive retail to the area.

As a building it looks great although I agree the base is somewhat bland.

The thing about TRUMP is that even the largest developers bring in partners to put up most of the equity in the deal, but the developer finds the site and works the whole deal,

But by Trump he is not even the developer,
What happens is that a developer in Miami like DEZER DEVELOPMENTS put up most of the money and is the developer (they bought the site on their own before trump got in) and later on for marketing purposes they just use TRUMP'S name just like if they were to use RITZ or FOUR SEASONS
like 20 PINE is using Armani/ Casa

I really like the design of this tower. Should do a lot for SoHo.

(technically not SoHo -- despite Trump's claim)

Ugly design. And I suspect it would turn out even uglier if built.
