It is just reflected light. That's, to me, the neatest part.

The skin on this building is much nicer than I had expected.

I don't see this happening, There is pretty much nothing left of the old facade, and the rest of the building is unlikely to have much architectural distinction at all. It's way past its glory days. Just let this poor old bastard die with dignity, demolish it and replace it with a mid-sized, sliver tower.

A sliver of glass has appeared above the setback, and although it's hard to tell this early, it looks like it has the potential to be amazing. Will try to post a pic soon.

you are late to the party, and you didn't look up. Scroll up the page and you will see many pictures of the 'sliver of glass' you were referring to. But please do post whatever pics you've got.

he's referring to the cladding for the tower, which has started to appear and is different from the cladding on the base that is pictured above.

Right. Clearly everyone has seen the cladding for the base. The cladding for the rest of the tower is starting and it has an interesting angular setup.

I passed by today, but didn't have a good camera to show the new glass above the setback. Captured this with my phone:

Save the best for last. This tower is mind blowing. Go see it. The glass arrangement is actually quite simple, but it works SO SO well. It's basically just a sawtooth, but the effect works by staggering the teeth.
