That's the image I saw. It's horrible, as is RIU's Panama City eyesore.
The rendering on that site actually looks a little like the original plan for this site (below). Lets hope that rendering is just a general idea because it looks pretty terrible. Although at this point I just want to see that nasty condemned building removed and something built. We have had that scaffolding up for 3+ years now!
Isn't URI the proper abbreviation for University of Rhode Island?
Anyway, I'm not sure why they want a campus in New York City, but seeing how they're in the same state as RISD, couldn't they find someone to do a better design?

New scaffolding finally up. Looks like demolition is on its way. Anybody know the final plan for this plot?
I suspect that it will look even lamer than that.
This area is like 6th between 23rd & 42nd, all you're gonna get is quick and basic architecture. Maybe Cook would break the trend at 855 Sixth?
