    credible’ – means; believable, convincing.

And the post is “amazing” because someone who actually lived in that building is posting information about the an apparently ‘unsolved’ crime story.

You have just misunderstood my words.

I do say sometimes say ‘mean spirited’ things: but this is not one of them – read the statement again and you will see it was a harmless remark.

Its when you said "Anyway, thanks for solving that 'crime story' for us all" its not SOLVED and I was was just relating to some of the previous post regarding the murder.

    Status = stalled.

Just like the other corner at that intersection, with the very attractive cyclone fence encircling the lot covered in broken brick.

    Hi Erica/All
Sorry for the delay but I kept checking back on this thread for months and then gave up when there were no new posts. Just seen the updates...and my notifications (whoops) while searching for more info about the case.

I am going to write you an email in a few moments Erica...thanks for that

The case is still unsolved. Sadly, NYPD say it is officially a cold case now and is not actively being worked on.
I have got new information about the case and will be giving the details to Law Enforcement shortly. I believe it is enough to make them reopen the case.

Hopefully, a better design will be made for this site.

I do too, but I was trying to be optimistic.

Ha! No more visions of 'Kandahar on the Hudson'?

Sadly, Kandahar-on-Hudson is firmly etched in my mind in light of the demolition of the townhouses on 57th and Park and the gem at 120 W 57th and the absurd reclad of 350 Madison. I was just trying to find a glimmer of optimism.

Aren't there laws that require developers to maintain their empty lots? There are mounds of trash behind the fence on 8th Ave. and the wall in front of the building that is still standing is saturated with urine from the squatters who now live on this block. It's really amazing what one developer can do to destroy an entire area of the city. It was better when it had nothing but porn shops.

Rumor has it that this lot has been purchased by Glenwood for a new rental building. True/False/comments?

Glenwood is suing. From Curbed back in November:

"... Glenwood Management has sued to foreclose on loans to the site's developer, Tribeach Holdings ... Glenwood acquired the $78.6 million in loans from the original lender in September and refused to comment on what it planned to do with the site."

Not sure of the status of the lawsuit.
