Leyva's POS was horrible, but this area deserves something better than this. These "developers" are di.cks, and they should stay in Maryland.

PS: I can imagine what "DP" in their website, www.urbandp.com, stands for.

If the rendering from that Crains article is the latest then it looks like they did some more cost cutting to an already really cheap looking design.

    Before?

    After?

I love the taller building to its left on the corner. It has some beautiful details and is great in person. Looks like it is here to stay for a while.

They've put in a big-ass crane, so you know this is going up soon.

The facade has started rising, and it's absolute crap. What an utter travesty. We'll now have two cheap tall, clownish towers across from our greatest icon.

Leyva's ridiculous proposal would have been better. That says a lot about our dilapidated city.

Oh man those windows along the right side in the picture above are going to be close together! Are there going to be windows on the new building all the way down or just above the neighboring building next store?? If so, they will basically be in your bedroom with you! The new curtainwall looks crappy too!

This project is horrible and why does zoning even allow a project to have this form on fifth avenue?
These developers should be forbidden from building anything again.

New York really is in a race to the bottom. The city is becoming quite a ghetto.
