Thread: 150 Greenwich Street - WTC Tower #4 - by Fumihiko Maki

You can clearly see that the office glass is much more transparent than the mechanical floor glass. It's probably the same as the strip of clear glass on the row second from the bottom.

What you're seeing is light from the interior passing through the section of glazing without any backing. Notice the floor plate areas between the office floors; looks the same as the lower mechanical floors.

To me, the glazing on the office floors has the same metallic reflectivity as the lower floors. Not at all like 1 or 7WTC.

The shimmer of this is beautiful in the afternoon - like it's clad in stainless steel.

I never even knew that Tower 4 had a short side-mounted tower crane similar to the one on One WTC.

Also, note in the top pic, the facade which reflects the buildings arcoss from it and gives the illusion that the facade itself is different. looking quite similar on each end. to the facade that was once featured on the Twin Towers.

Daquan, You are looking at the vents on the north side not a reflection.

It looks fantastic now that it is reflecting the sky, and not just the surrounding buildings.

Some steel was added on the north face today. Decking is still being finished on the two floors below.

Yeah, I see them there now.

That curtain wall glass looks great -now- in this last set of photos; at one point I was "very disappointed" with the outcome based on what I saw in a few other photos posted here on this thread. Sorry to belabor the point; but one never really knows 'exactly' what these buildings look like until they are seen in the flesh. The photography here is great, but they still slightly 'distort' the reality - and often in a good way. (LOL)

The only thing now, is that dark looking Deutchie-Bank-style tower on the right is going to throw it off.
